So if you look at record sales and you saw someone sold 600,000 copies the first week than second week sold 60,000 copies the second week then you know what i’m talking about.Def Jam spent 7 million just to promote Jay-Z album Kingdom Come. first of all “i get money” is #1 on hot97 but thas only ny. there are 49 other states buddy. i still say that “str8 to the bank” was better then “i get money” but at the end of the day i dont really care. we all know that jay-z doesnt like 50 cent, i dont care wut they both say, jay is jus gonna have kanye take 50’s #’s so to be honest i dunno who is gonna be #1 that day.

if im gonna compare them so far on their singles, it would go like this. “amusement park” aka “candy shop” was a horrible decision and it flopped greatly. “str8 to the bank” was a decently good song i thought so i dunno why it flopped. “i get money” is iight but im personally not feeling it cuz rappers been doin that kinda song since like wut ‘96. the song is def gettin play in the ny, but thas bout it. “stronger” is a good song, but i’ve heard it a few times now and it’s starting to annoy me. the genius of that song is, that song will get played on rap stations, pop stations, rock stations, and those euro techno stations across the pond. “can’t tell me nothing” for me is that record. it’s not a big hit, but its an underground hit. ask any black kid that really luvs hip hop, theyll say that record is the record that ppl really started looking at kanye as a lyricist.
now 50 is putting out that JT record. if this song doesnt explode, i think 50 may really be in jeopardy. those 3 singles he’s put out doesnt even equal a fraction of the hype his bigger hits had. “stronger” isnt as big as “gold digger” but “can’t tell me nothing” is that underground hit that “through the wire” was, both songs jus spoke 2 ur soul. 50 and jimmy iovine especially has 2 be scared, cuz 3 singles in 4 months and still no buzz is not a good look cuz the record label is the one that’ll catch the bigger L.
