My homeboy went to a party at the playboy mansion last year, he was invited by Meth’s manager and he shows up (keep in mind this dude has been hard into hip hop from childhood, looked up to all these dudes when they weren’t getting no play out here in the West and all that) and Sermon and and a couple of other cats are trying to play him like he a sucka. He said RZA seemed cool, a couple others laid in the cut smokin and chillin.. but Sermon and his crew were laughin and talkin sh*t like they was above him. F*ck that, Karma is a b*tch and that’s why these old cats in particular still ain’t made that big dough evcen after all these years and never will.

Ironic thing is, these fools dropped the ‘cross over’ back in the day talking about not selling out and keepin it hip hop and not letting money be their motivation.

Frontin ass n*ggas still touring just to pay the rent.

eric sermon was one of the first hip hop prodcuers that was given a major production deal.. back in like 92-93 or summin like that.. wasnt it like 30 million?

i doubt he’s broke….plus he’s produced several platinum albums other than his own…

Yall niggas are stupid…What they meant by no cross over means…”No shiney suits” for EPMD, not that they didn’t made radio friendly 2 singles…but the albums would be crazy.
EPMD is responsible for the early West Coast sound. They made dough when the market is new…How the Hell can you compare Dr. Jay with Jordan money?…(Keep shit in perspective..they were going gold with very little effort and a smaller market)
Do ya fucking History….Jay Z and 50 cent were not the first niggas to make doough. EpMD was posing on Benzes and Big Chains when I was in middle school. They actully taught New York how to build clicks and get ya friends sighed…Das Efx, Redman, K Solo, Top Quality, Keith Murray. This was all before Jay Z had a solo deal. EPMD were the first Duo in Rap to get a million Dollar deal. Hell, all the Hype about Beenie Sigel, and he only got 550,000 to sign to the ROC. Keep shit in perspective, and do just a lil research, or ask someone who is at least 30.
