I think it’s funny that people keep asking where hip-hop is going, where the good music is, and why good music doesn’t get a chance. For all those who know the answer to that question (deep down, RealTalkNY must slightly know the answer because they posted this video), videos and songs like this should be posted on their every blog and personal page.
This combo is ridiculous. This song is hot. However, everyone will keep bitching about the South; and everyone from NY will keep crying and moaning; and no one will offer any alternatives or support creative efforts like this one.
Hip-hop is not dead. Most people just can’t recognize the fact that it has shed its skin and taken on new forms.
Mos and Amy are DOPE…. actually two of my fav albums of 06 back to black and true magic so like Pdark said its not dead its just changing…(south is taking it in da wrong direction).
I saw the whole concert the other night and that alone makes me want to listen to her album. She bringing an old soul vibe back to music which is what RnB needs, because if HipHop is dead, RnB is on life support…
16, you’ll like the song when you hear it on her album. it was way too slurred here for you to hear how good the lyrics are. amy the truth. mos and amy together are the gospel. albums like amy’s are the ones that should be going triple platinum but instead fools reach for generic ass music like rihanna and beyonce. im a fan of both but neither has anything on amy in the lyric department.
This is my favioret song off her album, which I’m feeling by the way. I didn’t like the live performance it didn’t do this song or its lyrics justice, but I did like the Mos Def & Amy Winehouse combo. Kudos Real Talk
This shit is taking forever to load…..and I don’t even fucking like Amy Winehouse. As a matter of fact she made me like Jay-Z even less and that’s sayin something cuz I LOVE Jay-Z he’s like one of the dopest dudes to ever do it like it or not. Mos is one of my favorite rappers so outta respect for his creativity I’ll check it out….we’ll see.
Jay-z had no business being on that rehab track. Like seriously, I believe this dude thinks anything he lays his voice over turns to gold, egotistical bastard. That’s the same man who supposedly dumbs down his lyrics/work for the industry/public… releasing tracks like “Change Clothes” because he thought that’s what the majority wanted. People went crazy over Encore and he ended up looking like an ass.
Anywho… no more ranting. Amy Winehouse is amazing. This was my favorite performance from that show. Mos Def added a lot to the performance.
For all of you who may be a little skeptical about Amy, I feel you. I felt the same way as first. That was until I listened to her CD. All the hype surrounding her…yea it’s all true. And if you don’t believe me go to iTunes, switch your country over to United Kingdom, and check out her first CD “Frank”. Amazing! I wonder if they plan on releasing it over here, I can’t see a good reason why it hasn’t been already.
I didn’t know much about Amy until about a few months ago, I dont know if she writes her own lyrics but if so, she’s good at what she does. She talks about real things, not just something that you can go to the club and shake your ass to.
amy is amazing, and she does write most of her songs, come are covers, or other artists helped her. shes gorgeous, with one of the best voices out there. ( and yeah shes definatly Not sucking dick, you idiot) and some of you guys said you cant understand the song, but shes saying how she was hurt in a relationship, and wished she had never gotten in it. ie for you i was a flame love is a losing game, 5 story fire as you came love is a losing game, one i wish i never played, oh what a mess we made, and now the final frame love is a losing game.
hip hop is not dead.
if you stopped playin` your soulja boy for 5 seconds, you would realize that.
