So I Read The Full 50 Cent Interview, 50 Sounds Like He Is Done With G-unit
So I finally got my hand on the new Vibe magazine to see the full 50 Cent interview. He said Banks was lazy on the last album, I know some of you thought Banks wasn’t going to get any negative comments. He went on to say G-Unit arists are complacent, don’t appreciate him and he won’t be on their projects anymore. I don’t see how G-unit is going to be around for much longer if 50 got this attitude towards them. He makes them sound like leeches that can’t do anything for themselves. 50 states,”They’re used to seeing fucking crowds roaring, but that’s 50 Cent’s energy, not their energy.” It sounds like it will just be 50 Cent & Yayo doing the hand dance in the near future. Lets face it, Hip Hop cliques never work.

If Banks was lazy on the album, why the hell didn’t 50 do or say something before it was released? He’s so concerned about sales, right? So why couldn’t he have told his employee/friend, “Look nigga, this shit is weak. Probably won’t even go Gold with this. It’s been two years since your last album and the G-Unit album so you don’t have much of a buzz right now. You gotta come hard with this.” Obviously 50 approved it, and he was singing the hook on the first single (which flopped). So how can he come back and say this shit now? If you’re the captain and you see the ship headed towards an iceberg, steer that muh’fucka the other way before it hits. If what Fif is saying is accurate and Banks is lazy, then it’s his fault for not addressing the situation earlier. Right now it just looks like he’s a nigga who’s bitter because he dudes ain’t do the numbers he expected.
btw – The Ma$e, Mobb Deep and Spider Loc signings were stupid from the get-go. He had to have been out his fucking mind if he thought they would sell. Betha didn’t move shit on his comeback album; most people don’t even take him seriously, and nobody knows if he’s really committed to rap. The fuck has he been since drinking milkshake in the “Window Shopper” video? The two lil’ 5-foot-3 dickriders who pretend to be hard, they’ve never been big sellers and their most recent albums have flopped. And Loc, homie’s wack. Game was right – Loc had the worst fucking song on the Madden soundtrack. That shit came on, you either skipped it, or you knew it was time to pick your team and start the game. Plus he bought gunot from under Game, another crush. Some say 50 is a marketing genius but how so when he dry snitched with ghetto quoran. Stirred it up wit how to rob, then got clapped up. Are you a genius when all you got is money, no respect and cant even enter your hood, or be in your city without bullet proof vests, cars, police protection and restraining orders. Sittin in your house surrounded by people on your payroll.
Then got the nerve to say gunit ridin off his energy, when he ridin off emimem and dre’s energy, both of whom he turned on. Like that mtv interview way back, Sway asked him what he feared, he said nothin then he said I fear Dre and Eminem, then after he blew he talkin about beefin wit Dre if he work wit game. Just like Master P said he started humble now he turnin on him too. Just like when he took his patna’s advance money and wrote a rhyme about it.
He went platinum then promised the label a better follow up and said that if he dont increase sales then it’s time to start lookin into something else. And started scoopin up gansta rappers and true hard dudes (like MOP) probably to help feed the image that he ended Ja rules career, Who, along wit Irv was havin fed problems that kept them from really focusing on sales. Hell, feds even wanted 50 to testify in the preme case.
You’re not a genius when your business model has no longevity, and he’s turnin into a DUD real fast, pushin albums back and trying every excuse in the book, I cant wait to see what he tries next. He always sonnin everybody around him, cause He got an inflated sense of self, and think money equals respect. He said he is in therapy and they better work fast cause since he already proved he values money over life, he proly on his way to suicide. His label gotta be thinkin how they fucked up, plus he got that stank on him where nothin he bless really shines anymore. Gunit would be the bomb without him and yayo. One more label might pay top dollar to move Gunit in, off the perception of his momentum. So, One more $50 million deal based on everybody callin him a “genius” for one reason or another, then he’s not relevant. Interesting story of a tormented soul – HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

First of all, I don’t what Vibe was thinkin with that cover! LMAO, that negro looking kinda crazy! Did you really read the interview? I read it and it certainly didn’t seem like 50 was done with G-Unit. Here’s some highlights…
Fif was disappointed with sales for both Mobb Deep & Lloyd Banks. He felt Mobb’s long time fans didn’t want to hear Mobb go commercial. He felt Lloyd Banks was lazy with how he handled his album (he didn’t really promote it…kinda hard when you lose your original album because of a jump-off…LOL). He ammended his earlier Young Buck comment and said he no longer looks at Buck like he looked at Game when Game was with the Unit. He mentioned that Yayo ain’t gotta record ever again if he doesn’t want to. He also mentioned that he used the money that he made from Doctor’s Advocate to cop the Unit cars (Buck, Banks, Yayo, etc.). He said he’d fire ANYBODY that wasn’t producing because G-Unit is a business 1st. Stop reading into that. Anybody that owns a business would do the same. The gist of the article…G-Unit IS NOT BREAKING UP but G-Unit artists need to get in gear.

Its too obvious that this is 50’s last ditch to save face on all the bad decisions he has made with his record label over the past two years.
His apparent frustration is a result of his own bigger than life mentality. Shifting all the blame to artist on his roster is not the mark of a true leader/CEO. If he really wants the buck to stop with him, then he needs to assume more responsibilty in the entire process of developing artist and making quality music. Don’t smash on your crew like this in the public and be the first to jump ship leaving your crew to fend for themselves. If sh** isn’t up to par or your established standards, then wait to release it or head back to the lab and grind harder. There’s no need to be embarassed with making a decision to push an artist album back because the fans want quality music.
Also, big propz tho The Game for standing up to a whole crew that was a the top of the rap game at the time and choosing not ride with a boss whose ego has led to the fall of a promising group.
50’s overly confidant attitude has disconnected him from reality. He needs to do a better job at managing himself and his label if he wants to create a positive legacy.

Co sign 47 and 52 as well!!! I also agree with the international comments. It is obvious most of the people on this site just don’t understand HOW BIG 50 cent is WORLD WIDE!!!! America is NOT the only country 50 is popular which works to ANY international artist’s favor in a major way cuz American fans have proven to be WAY TOO FICKLE when it comes to who they like someone and why.
If Michael Jackson wasn’t an international star, he wouldn’t have sold a DAMN THING after the BAD album cuz America turned his back on him. Even today, if Michael came out with another album, he would sell AT LEAST 10 mil worldwide. I don’t even remember the last time Michael toured the states, but he keeps makin Mo money, Mo money, Mo money JUST LIKE FIF LMBAO!!!!!

50 gave all these average rappers a career. Never would have they madepla tinum albums if it wasn’t for that 2003 50Cent tsunami! History.
It must not be easy to be an artist ad to accept this fact. all they can do is try to surprise their audience to make it last as long as possible, float as long as there is some wind…The thing is that even 50 is not that hot anymore. But he’s real.

50 also ruined some of the best rap artists around that were at the top of there game at one point, like m.o.p., mobb deep,& mase due to bad management, marketing and promotion.
