JustBlaze Responds To Saigon’s Recent Displeasure
Earlier this week Saigon left a message on his myspace talking about his frustrations with his label. He threatened to even leak his album if Atlantic won’t release it. So JustBlaze has made lengthy post about it on his blog.
To sum up what I said in my email to him, I explained that I didn’t understand why he would post that NOW. Now that the album is pretty much done, and the only issue holding up the release of the first record is a sample clearance issue, which Craig Kallman (President of Atlantic) is personally handling directly with the sample’s publishers, as well as the management of the group that was sampled. Please believe that does NOT happen very often, especially not with a new artist who has not sold one record. It’s usually “Well replay the sample or make a new record” If this man is going out of his way to personally get this cleared, and we (myself and Saigon) just had a short meeting about this the night before and you know exactly what is happening and who is working on what, why would you go out and slander the company he runs in the middle of him trying to negotiate something on YOUR behalf? It’s kinda like going out and sleeping with your lawyer’s wife the night before he’s about to represent you for a murder case.
Hmm, life as an artist ain’t that easy. A lot of records get pushed back due to problems clearing samples, that is part of the problem.

piffpusher. if he’s trash then you’re in it. honestly, saigon’s album is sounding pretty decent. most of my hopes rely on the snippets i’ve heard in justblaze videos. but majority of the latest mixtape songs are starting to get repetitive for being added on to every saigon mixtape put out and not really going to build a wider fanbase. but i think reason being is because the best songs are saved for the album and to leak those would ruin it. the best that saigon put out was warning shots and his first mixtape and certain songs not released on a mixtape.

well maybe i was the only one that read the whole JB article. But according to what he said JB lost MAD money on that album. From the flat fee of recording the album for however long it took. To the mixtapes recorded, to beats, damn. I first found out about Saigon watchin Entourage on HBO.
