Wu tang were the originators of alot of trends present in hip hop tosay:

- waerin grillz. ODB and RZA been rockin grillz since the early 90’s

- using old soul samples in their beats. Before the heatmakers and kanye West did this in their beats, RZA was the originator of that shit

- Creating Alter Egos. before this whole “T.I vs T.I.P” thing goin on the wu members had many alter egos. such as RZA aka Bobby digital, Ghostface aka tony starks aka pretty tony, ODB vs Dirt Mcgirt etc..

I would go as far to say the the WU is one of the most influental rap groups of all time
