RealTalkNY Hits Up The Yung Berg Listening Session
Yung Berg has been in the music biz since the early age of 15. Now at 21 he is getting ready to release his first EP, “Almost Famous,” July 24th, with his album, “Look What You Made Me,” coming out late summer/early fall 2007. So I hit up his listening session and asked him a few questions, didn’t do a full interview, probably do one this summer.
I went there not knowing anything about the guy, only seen him on TRL. My impression from TRL was he was cocky as hell, but when I met him he showed everyone respect and was down to earth. When your a rapper you always have to make a persona for the media. Yung Berg, from Chicago, was previously signed with DMX, but things didn’t work out. Now at Epic Records, he is getting his chance to blow up.
His first single, “Sexy Lady,” is catchy as hell and can easily blow up on the radio and music shows. Watch out for the remix with Jim Jones and Rich Boy. On, “Look What You Made Me,” a clip of Jay-Z talking about new artist just dropping one big hit is played at the start. The song pays respect to the major rappers out now and in the past and tells them they made Yung Berg who he is today. Yung Berg’s, “Round The Way Girl,” was inspired by a female that left him for Juelz Santana(Ouch). I was really feeling, “Where Do We Go,” ft. Twista, I can see this track getting a lot of air time. Yung Berg has another hot song with, Eve & Collie Buddz, called, “Victory Lap.” Production was on point for every track. While the album may be targeted towards females, there are tracks for male rap fans to enjoy. The entire album wasn’t played, but from what I heard it is off to a strong start.

Beat and Hook is crazy.. His raps are generic
he must have spend his whole advance on jewlry.
The sound of his ‘jewelry’ clanking against each other was atrocious, the majority if not all of those pieces must of been hollow.
I also seen him on TRL and he couldn’t stand still, which is understandable his first time on the show and his nerves got the best of him. To bad after every sentence he would make some ridiculous noise, which made him look like an asshole. I really wanted to kick him in the fucking neck.

Yo, I don’t even know who this kid is. Like to hear the album, most Chicago MCs (at least the ones I’ve heard) are nice…

Because I agree Bow wow’s style or music just doesnt come off as fly or credible in hiphop to me either, just seems manufactured.

Publicists from both parties deny, but we all know that New Rap sensation “Yung Berg” is Really Ice T’s Son. Even the moniker is a clue. (Yung Berg / Young Ice Berg/ young ice/ Ice younger/ Ice T younger/ Ice T’s son???) Am I drawing too vague a conclusion or is the proof in the pudding?
Yung Berg the artist who brought us last year’s summer hit “sexy lady” who also appeared on Ray J’s top ten hit “sexy can I” Is releasing his second Album this summer titled “Look what you made me” Is this title a statement directed towards the former “F** the police” rapper now TV detective?
Ice T’s career started in 1982 with his debut single “the coldest rap” Unrevealed sources says that Yung Berg aka Christian Ward (1984) is the illegitimate offspring of Ice T aka Tracy Morrow (1958). And Christian’s mother concealed the true identity of his father. If this is true Tracy’s genes are so strong that you can see the identical swagger all the way down to the way they stand. Safe to say Berg has his mother’s eyes and his father’s everything else.
Maybe this explains the unusual beef that has recently aired between Ice T and much younger rappers “Soulja Boy” and “Hurricane Chris.” Both younger rappers had much more successful album sales than Yung Berg in 2007.
Additional info: Ice T released an album in 2006 called “gangsta rap” using the name Ice Berg.
Is this enough evidence to build a case? There’s not much more to say, this case is closed.
