defjam DIDN’T promote ghostface who put out 2 GREAT ALBUMS BUT for LL cool Lame to say def jam dropped the ball on his album is RIDICULOUS. LL had an expensive video w/ JD and J.Lo AND another vid w/ LYFE JENNINGS…..2 VIDS before his album dropped. JAY-Z and NAS didn’t even get that. plus i dunno how many LL posters i saw ’round manhattan. DEF JAM DID THEIR JOB….UR ALBUM JUS SUCKED. HOV didnt even rely on def jam 2 promote his shit, he went out da box and got sponsers. LL u got 2 vids w/ j.lo and lyfe jennings before ur album dropped (BET and MTV played that annoying J.Lo record CONSTANTLY) and posters ’round NYC and u were on those late shows (jay leno, jimmy kimmel, david letterman, etc etc)…HOW MUCH MORE PROMOTION DO U WANT. no matter how much money u put into promotion, if the SONGS SUCK, NOBODY AND LL, I REPEAT NOBODY WILL BUY THAT HOT GARBAGE U CALLED AN ALBUM.

LL needs to act like a legend and not a kid. Jay didn’t hire himself, def jam decided to do that. Plus the rap artist (LL, Redman, Methodman, Ghostface) have names for themselves and I don’t ever remember them getting alot of publicity when any of their albums dropped in the first place.(besides LL)

LL sounds dumb. LL is a HipHop pioneer still tryna hold on to the only thing he’s ever really known in his life and its sad. He now wears GUnit Jeans and Gunit bandanas around his neck and what not. He needs to call it quits. Outside of Music and movies, he’s “lazy” compared to how today’s rap stars conduct bizz. Example: 50, Nelly, Snoop, Cam’ron, Em, (and the Greatest Example) Jay-Z. This further proves that 50 is RAP’s BIGGEST HUSTLER. He sales these seasoned MCs dreams of $$$ and fame and finally getting some recognition, etc (i.e. MOP, MOBB). Then they just fail horrorilbly. WE ALL wish LL the best, but we all know how this movie is gonna end.

I find it funny how a 2 years ago, Def Jam was one of the wackest labels on the face of the earth according to most of yall on this site, now you seem to be biggin’ up the shit just because of jay runnin’ it now. I’m lovin’ what LL had to say. That’s Real Talk there. Def Jam used to be known for having solid marketing. Not anymore. You’ve got cats sitting back making 6 figure salaries and the only thing that sells is that pop garbage. Hell, Jay’s album was a commerical failure compared to what he used to sell. The marketing dept. at Def Jam didn’t even stand up for its own CEO. LL has longevity on his side. LL has more hits over a longer span of time than any rapper and y’all don’t think he deserves a place at the table? LL carried Def Jam on his back for years. Without LL, there would be no Def Jam today. Everybody in that company needs to get up off their asses to promote him.
