Yeah, if he did it for free or for less…he would have to do it for every church in America.

But since the performance was for a church and a song about Jesus many will say that no matter what the performance should have been free of charge.

Dude kind of misses the point of the song and the video version he is talking about.

That scene from the Used To Love You video is the main reason I like that joint…LOL

i think this is the same clown that accused jay of worshiping the devil with a bunch of propaganda and bullshit so i already cant take him seriously. lol at him saying “jesus walks is not actually about jesus” then saying it was 2 seconds later, just not the way he wanted. he looks at shit completely out of context and trys to make it say what he wants. showing the john legend video was completely pointless…what did that prove? anyone know this guys name? instead of trying to soil the names of successful black men who are making positive contributions to the world he should follow their example and use his voice to change the world for the better instead of blatantly lying for no real reason.

Thats some bullshit. At least Kanye had tha balls to rep what he stood for. A lot of church boyz get out of church and act like thugz in front of their friends. Kanye actually made it cool to stand up for Jesus. And as far as the video,the bling bling before going into church and tha fake laying of hands on people really happens in the church. Everything this man is saying is blasphemy.
First and foremost why should Kanye be obligated to perform for free? More people will attend church and overings will be larger so the Pastor benifits and pulls a larger congregation. Ask homie what kind of car he drives. Some Pastors be cakin’ more then your average dope boy. I bet you if your chruch wanted him to come preach he would charge you out the ass as well. This man missed the whole point of the song and video. He reminds me of dude who comes on tv late at night trying to sell annoited hankchiefs. im not even a christian and i can tell that this man seems to have a severe misunderstanding of who or what jesus preached. then he tried to imply that having a close personal relationship with jesus is blasphemy? i thought that was the point of christianity. the point of the song is that you can be forgiven for all the sins in the world but this guy thinks that kanye is saying that jesus is fine with it if you sin. then to condemn a rapper for rapping about g-d and spirituality is moronic. what more could he want? i guarantee you this guy has worse problems to work on in his community than kanye west’s real or fake spiritual beliefs.

Kanye West’s song was about the fact that Jesus walked with him even though he was moving cocaine and involved with other ilegal activities. It didn’t declare he was a christian as many other religions belive in the deity of or see Jesus as a profit. Kanye was proving a point that to pharaphrase Kanye “they say you can rap anything except for Jesus” the strength of the song which was written in partnershi? with Rhymefest was that Kanye wrote a song that spoke about Jesus and was successful. It was never a Christian song or ever tried to highlight Christian Living. This is where the guy missed the point it was a song for non belivers not for belivers and if Christians want the song they probably haven’t listened to the words, look at what Jesus said when faced with a similar dilemma . Wat d pastor is saying make sense. All things that are meant to be carried out in church are not carried out properly anymore nowadays. When u go deeper into spirituality, which everyone is meant to, you guyz will see how much this world is sining.

Point blank, any and everything you take in will influence you one way or the other. I feel the pastor on trying to make a point, but I also feel he’s very gimmicky. Why talk about “Jesus Walks” then turn around and show a completely different video?

I mean, the song and the Jonh Leged vid are somewhat related, simply because both are dealing with spiritual temptation (which is DEFINITELY in ANY and EVERYBODY’s life, Christian or not). Even in “JW” Kanye says “God show me the way because the devil’s trying to break me down,” for that pastor to deny that feeling/moment as a Christian…that’s blasphemy to me. It comes across like he has that “Holier Than Thou” syndrome. HE KNOWS he’s been tempted…EVEN JESUS was tempted, so why is he even playing. Ya dig?

the food delivery from the UK was simply a rumor and Ye denied that he did such a thing- I think on his myspace. The 30k for a church perfomance is another rumor that sounds suspect in various ways. We are gonna have to wait for a statement of a more reliable source.
But let’s assume he really got 30k for it.. what could have been his motive? I only have one explanation for it.. the pastor or whosoever wanted more ppl coming to this church, so he booked Kanye to perform. (if you also look at church being a business someone needs to run it somehow- some just have a building fond for example) I assume Kanye wasn’t called up and being asked for a free perfomance / charity event at this church. Ye was probably booked. I can not blame Kanye for that. Imagine 500 churches call his agent asking for a free performance.. he couldn’t do it.

This Reverand is doing the same thing that all this older people in Hip-Hop& people like Al Sharpton are doing…..they don’t realize that the majority of the youth now-a-days are very free minded and have a strict mind of there own…..Kanye West was not playing wit the structure of all churches when he directed John Legends video, he simply showed how some churches/pastors actually are, and Jesus Walks is a song that if anything says to our generation that even if your sinning, or sometimes living a backsliding life jesus can forgive you and it’s okay to ask Jesus to look over you…because a lot of pastors try to separate there members from the lost out in the streets, and they make those on the outside feel like they have no hope gettin into heaven….But soon we’ll understand!!!!

Now this so-called preacher I’ve seen some of his sermons at my church and that’s all he does is criticize people. He blows things out of proportion and most of the time he don’t know what he’s talking about. Like ppl said he just a bitter man with alot of baggage under his belt and so there for he picks on others especially rappers because he didn’t make it in the rap world. I condemned him for being a Christian but in Matthew Jesus says JUDGE YE NOT. Nobody even a Christian is perfect but Jesus. For we all have sin and fall short of the glory of God. Jesus is the only person that has not sin and it will continue this way until God calls his saints on earth into heaven. This guy needs to cease from his jealously and preach the Gospel. He so worried about rappers teaching the youth the wrong thing, I haven’t heard him preach to them about salvation. I swear people really contradict themselves. Leave Kanye and John Legend to GOD. Just make sure you get right with God.

There is actually a church in my area that mixes hip hop with church. It attracts a lot of youth. They mix crunk hip hop with the word / the gospel and it is actually quite successful. If you want to get our children into church you have to appeal to them. SMH @ this “preacher” who’s money hungry himself trying to pass judgement against Kanye/John Legend. He’s taking the videos and songs all out of context and just using the net to make a name for himself.
