Stop The Madness: Fire Drills I Understand, But Gun-Fire Drills?
Staff members of an elementary school staged a fictitious gun attack on students during a class trip, telling them it was not a drill as the children cried and hid under tables.
The mock attack Thursday night was intended as a learning experience and lasted five minutes during the weeklong trip to a state park, said Scales Elementary School Assistant Principal Don Bartch, who led the trip.
“The children were in that room in the dark, begging for their lives, because they thought there was someone with a gun after them,” said Brandy Cole, whose son went on the trip.
Damn this is just plain stupid, kids are on a school trip and you decide to do a gun-fire drill? Did these people really feel this would be helpful? To make it worst they only in the sixth grade, I smell a lawsuit.

It is stupid and unethical and foul and irresponsible, but if the kids are told its a drill, they wouldn’t take it seriously. Nonetheless, they can teach them the necessary protocal to take in the event that someone had a gun in the school. We were told what to do, practiced the drill and it worked (thanks to the DC Sniper).

It’s the times we live in. Kids bringing coke, guns and fucking (raw I bet) in school. All this before HS. So I dont see this as a big deal.

it won’t be stupid when one day one of the kids decide to shoot up the school and the students actually save their own lives and know what to do.

^^^there’s some truth to that, but its elementary school. nigga when u was in elementary school, if somebody walked in with a gun u woulda wet your trousers. and i guess this was gonna happen eventually. wit columbine and the virginia tech stuff goin on. at least when the muthafucka wit the gun walks in, the kids wont be scared stiff, ya dig? they would be more prepared, and thats a good look. but scarin kids is never wussup. when the principle woulda told me that it was a drill, i woulda socked him in his balls. i was a bad lil nigga. i wonder how much parents is bout to sue for
