I was expecting much more from both sides but I really wanted De La Hoya to win not only because he’s an amayzing fighter but also because I wanted Mayweather to shut hes mouth for once in his life. I know he talks and he brings the action along but still he should’ve lost and felt what it was like to be a looser and plus even his own father sed De La Hoya should’ve won!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still Finesse or not Mayweather is BORING as hell to watch, and he has very little charisma no matter what anybody says, that bad boy attitude is played out. Oscar might be somewhat too nice but at least it’s real…

unanaimous is what it should have been for floyd but overall it was good though but what im trippin off of is at the end of the fight my boy floyd said he loves his dad and his dad is a great trainer, but then they interview floyd sr. and he talks about if u got with numbers de la hoya should have won that is some bullshit you dont go against your own blood ,no matter if your on contract or not…

Floyd no doubt was the winner folks, De La Hoya with no steady jab and shoulda stood taller against the shorter man and pressed harder when he had the pretty boy on the ropes… while he was busy trynna hold Floyd when this arm in his neck & chest too!! I can see most people don’t know about fighting. De La Hoya could not lay no straight bunches towards Mayweather because he is too fast and quick. Every bunches De La Hoya throw he miss he did not land. Basically, he was fighting air. Mayweather was cool and relaxed because he know De La Hoya was slow. If you don’t not believe me watch it in slow mo and will see that Mayweather is too quick for De La Hoya. Like he said God don’t make mistake. It is what it is! Mayweather did what he came to do and that was defeat Oscar De La Hoya and he did it the way he’s done it throughout his career, with poise and accuracy. I can admit that I wanted to see more blood and brutal punching but I got what I expected from this fight… a W in Floyd’s corner!

Sure, Mayweather executed great defence, but in all honesty, it seemed he was trying his best to make the fight more boring than a Spurs game…what happened to “the massacre? Yeah, he won the fight, but that doesn’t make him a memorable champion. The connection with Curtis is quite clear now.

The fight wasnt even close. Floyd is a boxers boxer, simply one of the best of all time. He made defense look exciting tonight. Everybody knew Oscar was stronger then him, but Floyd was to smart and quick. Floyd is not a power fighter, he is a smart fighter as we you seen tonight.

i waited for this fight for months, and stayed up until 5am in the morning jus to watch it(from U.K) and let me tell u i said it all the way that floyd gonna win, like floyd said oscar always gets tired and thats exactly what happened.

Does anyone agree with me when i say the commentators sounded biased, they all were favouring de la hoya. Anyway im glad that floyd won and showed he the greatest hes got nothun else to prove. Unanimous rather than split.

I feel mayweather played it safe, especially since it was his ‘last’ fight, i thought he would go out with a bang! Oscar had his moments but he tired towards the end, he didnt make in easy for mayweather. Prettyboy did but in a solid performance in all aspects , defensively and offensively, i think a split decision was a fair result…I wanted to see a knockout though after all the trash talking that went on.

Everyone keeps talking about the score card…Well yeah if we look at the scoring Floyd landed a shit load more punches than Oscar….Yea Oscar threw like 150 more but it dont matter if you dont land them…I think Floyd held up on that fight…He did just enough to win and still create enough controversy for a rematch…He talks about Oscar being a good business man…I think Floyd is a much better business man…..

You said something about the fight was given to Floyd…..Do you even know that this fight was by Golden Boy Promotions? (De La Hoya’s Company) That’s why it ended in a split decision. They couldn’t just give De La Hoya the fight; they wanted to, but it was too obvious that Floyd dominated the whole fight. If the fight was close enough, believe me, they would have GIVEN it to De La Hoya.

Like I said before, Unanimous in favor of Mayweather!!!!!!!!

I can understand why people say floyd won but floyd didnt put in any real work against oscar. For the most part neither fighter really hurt the other.People have to remember that floyd was the one boosting and bragging saying he wanted this fight and how he was going to kill oscar but at the end of the day the fight was boring. Im a firm believer that in order to take the belt, you have to beat the champ. Floyd got some hits off but did any of it actally scare or hurt de la hoya? For the most part mayweather spent his time throwing one punch and moving back.I understand thats his stayle but after all that talk you would think the man would bring something more. Oscar needed to jab more but at least he was trying to press mayweather and give the people there moneys worth. I think the biggest issue with the fight was the two cntrasting styles that were overlooked by the hype of the fight.You have de la hoya who loves to just swing for the fences and go to battle and on the other sude mayweather who likes to pick his punches and avoid contact. Please no rematch and I still believe that the person with the best chance to beat mayweather is ZAB!!!. Yea I said it ZAB
