Could Kobe Really Leave The Lakers?

The latest NBA rumor states Kobe could demand a trade from the Lakers if Jerry West isn’t hired and given full control. Kobe Bryant wanting Jerry West back is clearly true, but the demanding a trade part is just hype. Kobe’s comments on the situation are below.

“I would love for him to be a part of this,” Bryant said. “But it’s not something where I demand he comes here. All I can do is offer my thoughts. I love being a Laker. I want to retire a Laker. I want to fix this thing, or at least help any way I can.” Source

Well this rumor is a load of BS, but I can see Kobe leaving if the Lakers can’t make out the first round in the next few years. Must be tough going from winning three championships and now not being able to win one playoff series. Anybody really see things changing for the Lakers? Kwame Brown is a bum, Odom is good when not injured and the rest of them are all suspect. The second half of Kobe’s career will definitely not be as fun as the first, without Shaq that is pretty much expected.

it was all this talk about shaq cant win witout kobe.

shaq made it to the finals, before kobe, with the magic.
and he won a title, without kobe, with the heat.

it looks to me as if kobe cant win without shaq.

homie, do you actually watch Lakers games, and not just the highlights?

“Kwame Brown is a bum, Odom is good when not injured and the rest of them are all suspect.”
that comment was straight up ignorant, and if you’re a Lakers fan, you’d know what I mean

SHAQ COULD HAVE NEVER WON THAT TITLE WITHOUT WADE. DONT DENY IT, WADE CARRIED THE TEAM, NOT SHAQ.

I for one am tired of this bullshit.

These are professionals. This isn’t some pick up game where you pick your squad. You signed a contract, live up to it. If you want to be surrounded by better players, take less money. You want max money, then you shouldn’t complain about the team. They are paying you, not the other way around.

if you want to go to a better team. thats what free agency is for.

When you are getting paid for a service, you don’t get the right to complain. The owners need to man up and take the power away from these guys.

kg is doing the right thing. i feel for him but hes a professional.

sorry for the rant. im just bitter im not making that money.

Kobe’s career is the opposite of Jordan. Jordan struggled with a wack team early in his career, then later in his career, he was winning championships. Kobe…vice versa. Great team, win championships, but now…wack team, no wins.

@ 8 and 10.

that is besides the point.
the point is, shaq has seen championships without kobe bryant as his wingman. we cant say the same for kobe.
and im gonna say that miami wouldnt have one that witout shaq. but who knows.

and @ 11.
i feel u on that.
im like, nigga do your job. u making 100mil, shut the fuck up.

I read that Kobe wants to be traded to the Mavericks, so that is most likely where he will end up. Or maybe he will reunite with his old buddy n pal Shaq. hah. Have you guys checked out globalgrind.com? I first read about this whole Kobe issue there.
