Sunday Discussion: So What Are You All Doing With Your Lives?
What’s good, just made this post to see where you guys/ladies are at in life right now. What things are you doing to make sure you willl have money in the bank? From going to school, to where you work, to doing your own business, what’s the deal? I’m about to graduate in a few days and I’m not sure what to do with myself as of yet. I know whatever I’m doing I will go all out though, no half stepping.
Git Up & Get Out

But thats a good look though, I been working, should start a communty college this semester for business administration, then i’ma try to get in another college or something if shit goes right.

im a sophomore in h.s. and when i graduate, i plan on going away to college to get some type of degree in business. from there, ill get a job and go to barber college. once i get my barbering license, ill start cuttin head and open up my own shop when the funds are right. if everything is straight, ill open more than one shop, and possibly a barber collge or two.
~Set high goals. Even if you fail, your accomplishments will be great.~

Great post. I’m a senior in college now, and I’ll be graduating in May ‘08 with a B.S. B.A in Marketing. It’s been a long journey from almost failing, almost dropping out, to dean’s list. It’s been a hard hustle, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I bless to have be able to struggle to get through college. I have plenty of friends that aren’t in school for whatever reason, so though the road to graduating is rough, I’m glad to be on it. I got a internship with Macy’s this summer, and a job lined up when I graduate, I’m just pray to everyday I can maintain the same grind and stay focus. -Stay up, don’t quit- peace

I maybe nitpicking but I dont like the title. It sounds very condescending. I think its the, “you people” lol. I would’ve perferred, “you all.”
I’m a high school dropout who recently & temporarily dropped out of college too. But for some reason, that doesn’t stop me from cheesing extra hard at my monthly bank statements. And since I’m not a rapper, I do plan on going back to college in the Fall just to have a degree in something.

hey just felt the need to let you know that it’s important in your life to travel and see the world (just after having a solid education in your pocket)! i’m going to be 34 this year and i just became a mum 11months ago! i deliberately waited this long so i can have an opportunity to do what i needed to get where i’m going in life. for me it was always important to have children, but only if i’d be able to stay at home and look after them and give them the love and attention they need! so whatever it is your doing, your education is THE most important thing – noone can take that away from you and it is most important that you get your education as early as possible in life, so you can have all the freedom you want and need later on! make sure you go in the direction of something you like in your life – don’t consider your degree based on how much a job is going to pay you later on.. there is nothing worse to be stuck in a job you dont like doing, but if you have a good job, you can travel the world and see how other people and cultures are living! hope you have a wonderful life ahead of you because its one worth living!

Nah Glock, I’m graduating college. Trust me, most people getting out of college don’t really know what tehy want to do. Most people don’t go on to careers that even match their major.

I’m a senior in college right now. I’ll be graduating in December. Journalism major; I’ll be starting an internship at Newsday this summer.
Congrats to all the people graduating this month and good luck to everybody else in their endeavors. For the high school young’ns, enjoy your time there because you’ll have to mature fast in the next 3-4 years. Seems like just the other day when I was checking out high school girls. Shit, that was the other day.

Much love to all the people that are even attempting to do something with their life. In the words of Outkast, “Get up get out and get something”. I’ll be graduating next year with a degree in Corporate communication. You right Realtalk because this is my third time changing my major. It’s important to do something that doesn’t feel like work so you don’t mind doing it for the rest of your life. I just started working on putting together a custom t-shirt business. I’ll design something for realtalk and send it yo way. I got some cold designs and making a little money because you know college students be struggling sometime. i’ll have my website up in about a month; http://www.xpressivedesigns.biz

Congratulations to everyone that’s on their grind…I’m a freshman at a community college..About to major in nursing..I’m also about to transfer to a four-year school so I can get my bachelor’s…Working part-time and just grinding it out…Its hard work, but its worth it in the long run…To #22..the hardest part is just getting there..Once you enroll in a barber college, you’ll be on your way..Look on the internet for barber colleges in your area..I’m sure you’ll find something..And to Whoa..I respect your endeavor, but in the future could you refrain from referring to strong black people such as Crispus Attucks, Sojourner Truth, Fredrick Douglas and Marcus Garvey as “niggas”..Just a thought..These are people that fought for our freedom, for our right to read and write and learn, for you to even be able to utilize things like this website..Its all love though..Just some food for thought..Peace

^^^^^u must be one of those people that dont like the word nigga. if he wants to call those people niggas, he can if he wants too. if those people were still alive i think they would use the word nigga. nigga aint the type of word u can put limitations on. if u black u can call anybody else that’s black a nigga. its a word that can bring blacks together, and anything that brings us together is good. when i think about crispus attucks, i think like “damn that was a real nigga” or when i think about marcus garvey i think “damn that nigga really followed his beliefs. he was a strong nigga”. nigga is a positive word if u use it positively. plus i think the word nigga was used more to describe these two, not really sojourner truth and frederick douglass. whatup whoa let me get wit some shit.
May 21st, 2007 at 9:33 pm
whatup grams. yeah u right i was talking more about the niggas who died in gunfire than the niggas who died of old age, but have u ever seen a pic of frederick douglass? that nigga look like if u stared at him he would be like “what u lookin at nigga?” LOL and sojourner truth used to call other slaves niggas, so miss official just got offended cuz she black, i can understand that. she puts niggas who stood up for equality on a different pedestal, like thay better than me or u, but they was just regular people in my eyes. no better than any other black person who is out here. i think thats the way they wanted it to be. but nigga im tryin to get all this shit poppin, but its hard because the government wanna know where u get all your money to start your businesses, and i aint got receipts. right now im just tryna make shit legit, ya dig? but yeah nigga if u need a job i got u. dont worry about that. i just gotta get it poppin
May 22nd, 2007 at 7:22 pm
I can respect that whoa…I didn’t look at it from that perspective…
