  6. Inori Says:

Thats wassup.. they were both articulate and got their points across very well. We need more artists that can express themselves effectively in situations like this… not make an ass out of themselves like say uhhh… CAMRON.

  7. leila Says:

I see 50’s anger management is paying off. Good for him.

And real talk from both of them.

  8. Don Imus Says:

    what 50’s in anger managment?

    u maaaaad

  9. leila Says:

^50 had to take anger management as part of his parole about a year ago.

  10. wilson Says:

LMAO@master P doesnt sell cds anymore

  11. NEWS FLASH Says:

Both of them spoke the truth!

I just had the same conversation with a friend of mine 2 days ago. People have to understand that even though alot of the music that comes from these artist are negative, it’s the truth. Hip Hop is our form of the news, they report(for the most part) what goes on in our communities.

Yes we do have positive black men & women in our communities, but we do have those bitches, hos, and ignorant ass niggas also.

  12. dat new nigga Says:

real talk! those are my niggas!! general of hip hop! and king of rap game!

  13. Jboogie123 Says:

I think having 2 of the most well known aritist in the industry speaking @ such a high level shows that HIP HOP aint all bout Ni99a bitches and HOes talk..We do have young educated black men that talk bout their livelihood as children..and im feeling both ARtists and their point of view…

LMF@O @ 50 twice for SAying Curtis out June 26th and Master P doesnt Cell CD’s anymore huh Is the Camera rolling..Tell him I said..That..

  14. explosives Says:

yo if neither of their albums were dropping next month would they really be doing thid please….marketing….marketing…..marketing

  15. Southpaw Says:

#13. Why would an organization or television program bring on rappers who aren’t in the lime light? That’s called bad marketing on their part. It’s not one sided marketing here. SMH at the lack of business savy. Imagine Master P, and Joe Buddens up there. WHO WOULD GIVE A FUCK?

50 is right, and T.I. is right. Niggas need to be parents, and the media need to stop using hiphop as a scapegoat to blurry our focus on more important shit like soldiers STILL in Iraq.

    I can’t believe I’m saying this, but…damn…I’m beginning to like 50.

  16. Southpaw Says:

    my bad…I meant #14

  17. Stick2daScript Says:

    50 still takin’ shots huh?

  18. Stick2daScript Says:

They both have good points, but they do have a responsibility as leaders/role-models. What about the kids that have no fathers. And what about the parents that are doing their best with the upbringing of their kids and they still rebel. We’re rebellious by nature! Whether these clowns acknowledge it or not, they have an influence on our kids! The parents need to do their part, and these artist also need to do their part.

If they didn’t think they have an influence on the people, why make vitamin water and all these other products these artists are coming ouit with? Major corporations even know the influence that they have on people thats why they’re getting them to promote their automobiles and such….

  19. auau Says:

@18 yes they do have influence but not as much as BUSH, CHEANY, RICE and there local mayor and officals if a kid don’t have a reason to rob and steal 9 out of 10 they won’t if they don’t have a reason to sell drugs 9 out of 10 they won’t but I bet u haven’t called your mayor out!!!!!! Until that rappers ball players are the only symbol of success we see so they will remain our rolemodels

  20. clif Says:

They have a responsibility to speak the truth….really…they don’t have to do that…..they are artists….they creat art….if they don’t have a father…or mother, how the hell they buyin cd’s??? they got somebody to come home to….and whomever that is, they need to make sure they teaching them reality and entertainment, more importantly, the difference between the two! Stick2daScript, you said artists “need” to do their part…?? they don’t need nor have to do anything, their artists! all they HAVE to do is create art. now if they CHOOSE to put out a cd filled with postive messages, then so be it, but we can’t put manditory requirements on their art, that aint right.

  21. kiks Says:

If you don’t like the TV station change the channel. #18 The point is these fathers need to raise their own kids, not the rappers. In the other hand, those children who do not have parents, it’s not a rapper responsibility to raise them, it’s the government.Stop considerting rappers has the country’s role model, why not a republiican or democrats, teachers etc.. why blames rappers and hip hop movement? If your kids decide to be like 50 cents and be rich, you’ll be the one getting fed. And aint nothing wrong with that….

  22. Stick2daScript Says:

    @ 19 & 20

Let’s be honest, what kid looks up to Bush or Chaney? And speaking from experience, I didn’t have to sell drugs, but that didn’t stop me from sellin them. People are influence by their surroundings and things they hear and see on the radio/tv.

And it’s one thing to speak the truth, but to glorify negativity is something totally different. And about this artistry……that’s bullshhhh!!! Which is it art, or reporting what you see?

Yall need to quit being so gullible! Cam’ron had many people wearing pink! Now you tell me that isn’t influence…..That’s only one trend out of plenty that has been set by an artist…….Holla!

  23. Patty Says:

    @22

Preach u r right, reading these comments, make me very sad. They both r very stupid men, i don’t care how much money they have. they r making excuses 4 their actions which is sad, the black community will NEVER evolve with people like them. There r children who have neither mother or father, so don’t use. parents should teach their kids, as an excuse.

  24. Mr. Me 2 Says:

I liked how Tip handled it.

  25. kiks Says:

#22 & 23. I understand your opinions but let’s look the facts. Parents should be the 1 influence on their kids. If your son is wearing pinks shirt and skirts? is your job as a parent to stop him to wear pink clothes, not the rappers. Where are they getting money to buy cds? parents are the one giving them money. I know that we shouldn’t glorify negativity but it is harsh reality, these people speak their minds. If you don’t like negativity going through your kids hear, go buy the clean version, if you don’t, then you don’t do your job as a parent to prevent “parental lyrical content”

  26. auau Says:

@22 I didn’t say they look up to them I said they have 99% more impact on would kids do then rappers cause they control the hood they grow up in but nobody questions them u are going to look up to the first sign of success coming from your for example white kids who live in great hoods see there friends becoming doctors so when they grow what do they want to be don’t blame artist,

  27. Stick2daScript Says:

    @ Kiks

You’re absolutely right…..parents should be their children’s number 1 influence, but the harsh reality about that is they’re not, at least in most cases. Listen, whether these artists want this leadership title or not, it’s been placed on them, not by parents, but by these kids that listen to their music. They really admire these guys, and sadly these guys take no thought for our youth.

On about who’s buying these cd’s for them if they have no parents, no one has to buy them any cd’s…..all they have to do is turn on the tv or radio and also our latest gadget, the computer

  28. clif Says:

yeah, exactly # 25, in response to #22 and 23, if a person speakin words on a cd has more influence a child than the father/mother/guardian, then obviously, the problem is with your parenting!!! And when people say rappers glorify negativity, that makes me upset. the glorification comes from the record labels, media corporations and outlets. And the majority of society accepts the bullshit that they display. If nobody watched BET, MTV, etc. due to the content they were showing, a guarantee their would be a change. They are in the business of music, and if the consumer (You, me, people) demand positivity, i guarantee you positive songs, albums, artists would be on the forefront. So before you criticize rappers and artists, take a look at yourself….

  29. Kurt Says:

    Yall r in DENIAL

  30. Kurt Says:

    Just like the rappers

  31. Stick2daScript Says:

    @ auau

They don’t control our hoods! Are you even from the hood? We dictate pretty much what goes on in the hood not them! We have our own rules, we police ourselves, that’s why there’s the stop snitching campaign going on because the hood handles their own problems…..That’s not to say that this is right, but it is what it is!

    On another note……
Let’s consider the fact that it’s not the artists motive to influence, but rather entertain. Okay, now they’re being told that not only are they entertaining, but they’re also influencing. With them knowing this, do you think they ought to step up to the plate? They would if they CARED! But since all they care about is money, and they know conscious rap makes no money, they make excuses to continue to do what makes that guap at the cost of our youth!!!

  32. auau Says:

I’m not in denial u looking for somebody to blame like the media

  33. Kurt Says:

    DENIAL!!!!!!
    DENIAL!!!!!!
    DENIAL!!!!!

  34. Stick2daScript Says:

    @ Clif

Because someone wants something doesn’t mean it’s right! If your kid wants something that you know will harm him/her, would you still give it to ‘em just because they demand it? That would be poor parenting. The face is these kids don’t know what’s good or bad for them. Half of these soon to be adults can’t make objective decisions! In my opinion, it’s harder to change their minds about what they want, than to not give them what they want.

  35. auau Says:

@ 31 how stupid are you everything thats goes on in your hood bush controls stupid from the books in your local school to the goverment food stamps. You keeping on think you control what goes on.If they want to bust you they will bust you.

  36. Stick2daScript Says:

    My bad…..The “fact”

If they’re given what they need, instead of what they want, it’ll grow on them just like the song you love to hate….You know the song they play on the radio, the one you couldn’t stand, but they played it so much ’til it grew on you!LOL

  37. kiks Says:

    I’m not in denial buddy.
Negativity shouldn’t be glorify period. However, we all have the right to speak our mind. Therefore when rappers write these songs, they speak about what they’ve experienced in their HOODS but they speak about I want to be your sons and daughters role models. They talked about what they didn’t have when they were kids in the bad neighborhood of America.

  38. Cruz Says:

BEEN A PARENT IS NOT WORKING HARD OR WORKING TWO JOBS. ITS NOT ABOUT GIVING YOUR CHILDREN 4 WALLS, CLOTHES AND FOOD. THAT’S NOT WHAT A PARENT IS. LOVE, ATTENTION, TEACHING AND UNDERSTANDING IS WHAT PARENTS SHOULD FOCUS ON. RAP ARTIST LIKE T.I AND 50 CENT COME UP SINGING OUT THEIR LIFE STORIES IN POETRY THAT INSPIRES YOUNG TEENS WHO HAVE 4 WALLS, CLOTHES AND FOOD. RAP ARTIST DO THEIR PART BY TELLING THEIR STORY AND INSTEAD OF YOUR KIDS LOOKIN AT THAT STORY AS SOMETHING FOR THEM TO BE SMART ABOUT IT AND NOT GO THAT ROUTE THEY INSTEAD WANT TO BE LIKE THEM BECAUSE THEIR YOUNG AND DUMB. WHERE ARE THE PARENTS WHEN THEIR KIDS ARE SHOWING SIGNS OF BAD CHANGE ? OR SOME TIMES EVEN GOOD CHANGE, WHERE ARE THE PARENTS FOR THIS KIDS ?. THEY AT WORK OR AT HOME SLEEPING CAUSE THEY WORK TO HARD FOR THE KID TO HAVE EVERYTHING HE WANTS. IS THAT AN EXCUSE FOR YOUR KID TO BE A GOOD KID ? I THINK NOT. IT DONT MAKE SENSE THAT WAY. LOOK AT ALL KIDS WHO ARE BAD AND YOU’LL SEE THAT THOSE BAD KIDS ARE THE ONES WHO GREW UP WITHOUT THEIR PARENTS TEACHING THEM ABOUT LIFE. MOST PARENTS THINK THAT TEACHING COMES WITH A GOOD SPANK BUT THAT’S WRONG. YES KIDS NEED SPANKING BUT NOT FOR EVERYTHING THEY DO WRONG. THEIR IS BAD TEACHING AND THEIR IS ALSO GOOD TEACHING. PARENTS MUST USE NOT ONE TYPE OF TEACHING BUT FIND THE BEST WAY TO TEACH. AND IT HELPS A LOT IF YOU BECOME YOUR KID BEST FRIEND AND HOW TO DO THAT ? LOVE, ATTENTION, TEACHING AND UNDERSTANDING. WHEN YOU HEAR RAPPERS TALKING ABOUT THE BAD LIFE IS FOR YOU TO KNOW AND SAY TO YOURSELF IM GONNA WATCH MY BACK MORE AND LEARN FROM WHAT THE SONG IS TALKING ABOUT NOT FOR YOU TO SAY DAMN I WANNA BE LIE HIM. MUSIC IS FOR YOU TO ENJOY NOT FOR YOU TO GET INSPIRED TO DO WHAT THE SONG IS TALKING ABOUT. IS GOOD TO GET INSPIRED BUT ONLY IF YOU GONNA DO IT ALSO TO INSPIRED OTHERS YOUR WAY NOT YOUR FAVORITE RAPPERS WAY. DONT SPENT YOUR TIME LOOKING AT THE TV NEWS SPENT YOUR TIME LOOKING AT YOUR KIDS.

  41. kiks Says:

CRUZ THANK YOU FOR THE LETTER…LOL
    you absolutly right
Hip hop is a black man freedom of speech either negative or positive. It gives black people an opportunity to speak about their lifestyles, experienced and up bringing. It’s our culture. However, it doesn’t say that we need to glorify negativity but it is a message to America that “”"this is what we go through, can someone hear me and fix it”"”" otherwise, these negativities will stay forever.

  42. kingpin Says:

thats word. thats powerful. thats the truth. and i agree with both of them

  43. I'mSoConceited Says:

both of them was funny but still was real intelligent wit it. lol @ 50 sayin P dont tell records no mo. T.I. was right, if there still is bitches niggas n hoes they should be able to talk about em. peace

  44. 504boy Says:

When I went to jail the judge ask me why I did it I said because 50 cent told me to not because I was sitting on a roof for 3 days waitting on the goverment and nobody came so I broke in a store and a cop saw me and took me in nah it wasn’t that it was becasue 50 said it so I did it, now I need yall to step back and see how stupid that sound

  45. Tha Kid Says:

    Curtis june 26th…

Best one liner of the year

  46. G Says:

i personally dont like 50 but i agree with al of u he made good point as well as T.I i appreciate them both speakin tha thruth keep hip hop alive and well

  47. kiks Says:

504boy I’m glad your admit your stupidity
If you blame 50 for something you did wrong is because of your own judgement. You know what’s right and what’s not right. If you steal, and you get caught, the consequences is you’re going to jail.

So now.. this hip hop generation kids need to know those consequences; if you steal and get caught you’re going to jail, if your parents never taught you that then you need JESUS

  48. Stick2daScript Says:

Check out what 2 Pac have to say about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhC_s20LUk0&NR=1

  49. kiks Says:

We all know master P don’t sale anymore CDs so he just need to be quiet and raise his son. It’s nobody’s job to prevent people from speaking their minds, NO wacko Simmons, No I stub you Al Sharpton, none of those peoples. If someone curse, it is an expression of how they feel or think of something so how you’re going to prevent a grown man to stop saying whatever is in their minds

  50. JAY Says:

both are coons and puppets of the industry. there was nothing articulate to what they said because those exact words been uttered by other artist for decades. have ya’ll thought that maybe what they said were coach by their PR??? hello???!!!!!!

  51. JAY Says:

for 50 to say how about the corporations? that was the funniest shhhh ever. for those who knows how the system works, thats funny. thats what you called making the enemy or the devil not real. he is part of corporate amerikkka, are you kidding. the same person who works for the hip-hop police who didnt care about the victims of katrina. the same person who defended white folks for saying nigger.

  52. kiks Says:

    Ok jay!
Are you articulate? what makes you articulate?
These people dropped out of high school but they’re trying their best to make people understand their opinions.. HELLO!

  53. JAY Says:

for 50 to say blame the corporations, thats funny. for those who doesnt have any critical thinking, this is what you call taking the blame and pointing it to someone else. A corporation that he’s part of, he wants to blame the movie industry but he didnt mention any record company. why? because he’s part of it. this is the same guy who is part of hip-hop police, the same guy who didnt care about the victims of katrina, the same guy who defended white folks who said the nicca.

  54. JAY Says:

    @52
am i articulate??? yes i am articulate because compare to them, who are ten or more years older than me, i actually realized the isssue that we face in the community and what the white supremacy system is about. i grew up in hood and all the bs in it.the thoughts that these two rappers conveyed hav a point but their point is derailed the issue of them being role models and actually being accountable to what they do and say.

  55. JAY Says:

how you going talk abut B’s, H’s and N’s? when you dont live that lifestytle n e more. 50 and TI traveled the world, you trying to tell me they didnt get anything from those experiences. you trying to tell me that they didnt grow up from those experiences? they are NEGROES. if you dont know what it means look it up.

  56. Kurt Says:

Jay u took the words right out my mouth. Both of them act like little ass kids. They made black men look very stupid.

  57. JAY Says:

if you are talking about parenting,it is barely alive in the inner cities. most us of came from single parent homes, moms or pops have to hustle get 3 jobs in order to provide the necesseties to survive. that means they dont have the time to teach, show some love, nurture etc. their children, so who are teaching these kids? white amerikkka, rappers, athletes, lies, Negroes in the hood and in the public eye period. As afrikans we supposed to be a community and a village to teach these kids how to be young men and women b ut we dont do that because we assimilated to the stereotypes of what are Afrikans supposed to be, a bunch of ZOMBIE NEGROES THAT DONT KNOW WHO THEY ARE.

  58. Stick2daScript Says:

    @ Kurt & Jay

Yall seem to be two of the most intelligent young men on this site! It’s sad how blinded most of our young brothers are…….

  59. Stick2daScript Says:

Hey Jay, you just reminded me of that old sayin’……”It takes a village to raise a child”!!!

  60. JAY Says:

    @58

asante sana. i do appreciate the love.thats the problem in our community, we rather spread hate than love. we shot at those who trying to revolunize our thinking, but we welcome drug dealers, pimps, stupid rappers etc. we hate on our beautiful strong afrikan women and glorify white females. we are so sick as a people, it hurts me.

  61. JAY Says:

yes indeed, when was the last time you heard that phraise? its been long time because the white system is winning.

  62. John Says:

if you are talking about parenting,it is barely alive in the inner cities. most us of came from single parent homes, moms or pops have to hustle get 3 jobs in order to provide the necesseties to survive. that means they dont have the time to teach, show some love, nurture etc. their children, so who are teaching these kids? white amerikkka, rappers, athletes, lies, Negroes in the hood and in the public eye period. then what r these ppl doing having kids if they cant afford to raise them. What ppl need 2 do is make sure they r financially stable b4 they have kids. Women are only able 2 get pregnant 3-4 days a month. Be smart have sex other than those 3-4 days. These rappers arent b paid 2 take care of the kids they r paid 2 make music and entertain us.

  63. lol Says:

    ..lol?

  64. YOUNG NIZEL Says:

its about time someone stood up and said some real shit T.I. and fif are my niggas now

  65. LordKaseem Says:

I’m gonna say this until the cows come home(with no gps)….IT’S JUST ENTERTAINMENT…ENTER TAIN MENT…ENTERTAINMENT…THAT’S IT…THESE NIGGAZ ARE NOT POLITICAL LEADERS…THEY ARE FUCKING ARTIST. THAT’S IT THAT’S ALL…IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT..CHANGE THE TV OR RADIO…ENOUGH PEOPLE DO THAT..THEN THE RAP CLIMATE WILL CHANGE.

ON ANOTHER NOTE…BUSH, CHEANEY, AND YOUR LOCAL POLICY MAKERS HAVE MORE INFLUENCE ON YOUR LIFE THAN 50CENT BECAUSE THEY MAKE “POLICY” FOR THOSE THAT DON’T KNOW “POLICY” ARE THE RULE IN WHICH OUR LIVES ARE GOVERNED. WHAT’S MORE INFLUENTIAL THAN THAT? BUT I DIGRESS…USE CRITICAL THINKING WHILE IT’S STILL LEGAL BRA.

  66. JAYhotep Says:

    @65
i differ to your arguement. thats the problem with us, im assuming your an Afrikan, thats we dont take nothing seriously anymore everything we do is rationalized and given excuses. Yes it is entertainment, so were the time of nat king cole, leena horne, hattie Mcdaniels, harry belafonte, muhammad ali, sammy davis jr., quincy jones, etc. you know whats the difference they didnt sell their dignity and their soul. yes i dont listen to this new rap,i turn off the radio and i dont buy their cds. im back yo listening to the golden era of hip-hop, when we real positive messages. i still listen to a few that has substance rbg, talib, common, lupe etc.

you want to talk about politics and policies. i bet you dont even know how the electoral system works? i bet you dont have no solution and idea with prison industrial complex, military industrial complex, money market, the boule society, etc.

  67. RealtalkTDOT Says:

real talk by TI… 50’s sounded like a dumbass up there ….only got one thing on his mind and thats pluggin that wack ass new album.

  68. KristalE Says:

This discussion could carry on and on, but the bottom line is that if we don’t raise our children at home then the wardon will raise them in jail. Period. You can say oh its hip-hop’s fault all you want, but without at least one positive person in the household (uncle, brother, mom, etc.) our young people will continue to fall by the wayside. Look I grew up listening to N.W.A. and Ice-T, but never once did I think about going to kill a cop or join a gang. Why? I had my parents there telling me what would happen if I did those things. See we want to place the blame on everything and everybody else but whats really important. What opinion is really important to a child is the one that they see everyday and when they don’t get that they turn to outside for validation. So before you go at T.I., Snoop, Jay and 50 for what they say ON A CD, ask yourself when was the last time I dropped my child a verse? One that told them they are treasured and they are loved? We need to go back to making child rearing a village because the least of those will be the worst and at that point not even a positive cd from Master P will be able to save them. Each one, teach one!

  69. OLA Says:

they spoke articulately and got their thesis across….cam’run couldnt do that

  70. calvin Says:

Thats the truth, and some peopel in America can handel the truth.i got love 4 the real nigga’s.Tell it how it is hom ies.yeahh

  71. Eashia Says:

both of them were well spoken especially t.i that is true its not up to rappers/actors/athletes etc.. to raise your children it starts at home u cant blame what u see on t.v as to why your child is acting or doing certain things its up to the parents to teach their children right from wrong to be their childrens romodel not the entertainment industry

  72. Stick2daScript Says:

    @ KristalE

You have some very strong points, BUT…….
I agree that it’s only a form of entertainment, but just to say that the intent of this music is to entertain, doesn’t remove the affects of it. You don’t believe that in the process of being entertained, one can be influenced? And I really can’t believe that you honestly think people listen to this music to replace what their missing at home. Every person is not as strong as the next, so to say that you listened to this type of music growing up and it never moved you to do the things it spoke about, is not fair. You can have a situation where a family is providing everything a child needs spiritually, financially, emotionally, etc…and any other area I may not have mentioned, but allows that child to listen to rap music for ENTERTAINMENT purposes, but that’s not to say that the child won’t be influenced in the process. I don’t believe that people should look to rappers, aheletes, etc. to raise their kids, but these guys do have a responsibility as role-models. It’s one thing if they didn’t know their music affected peoples lives, but now it’s being brought to the light that it is, and they still don’t wanna acknowledge it. Why? Simply because they don’t care. If they did, they’ll be trying to do everthing in THEIR power to correct it!

  73. xoxo91 Says:

AHHHHH T.I!!! MERKED THAT SHIT, REAL TALK! i love em his amazing and so real

  74. funeral muzik Says:

NO BULLSHIT NYC,THESE THE ONLY TWO RAPPERS I FUCK WIT

  75. funeral muzik Says:

CALL ME A LIAR IF U WANT 2 BUT I GETS ON THE GRIND FOOLS

  76. JMG Says:

they both spoke some real shit

  77. Novill Says:

They kept it funky. HIP HOP STAND UP!!!!

  78. Durrrr Says:

“we hate on our beautiful strong afrikan women and glorify white females”

    Grade A malaya.

  79. KristalE Says:

    @ Stick2daScript
I understand your argument as well, but my opinion is that a child is influenced 90% by the people they see everyday. Whose decision should it be to allow them to sit in front of the television and take in all of this “influential content?” And if a child is seeing Jay and 50 more than you as a parent then it’s a serious problem in that house. When do we as parents say enough is enough and take a stand for our own seeds? Most of the people who believe that rappers are to blame are the same people who haven’t taken the time to really sit (and I mean sit not pass by) and speak to their child on a serious level. I understand we all work and can’t be there 24 hrs a day, but it only takes 10 minutes to ask a child how they are and what they need. Listen, I can’t blame the lady down street that sells them cool-cups or McDonald’s if they are obese because guess what I paid for the food that they ate. So why should I be able to turn around and blame some person inside of a box for what they do when I pay the cable bill? I feel that T.I., Lil Wayne and 50 owe my children nothing. I owe them a great upbringing and a stable home environment. I owe them knowledge about their ancestry and who and who’s they are. I’m not saying they will be perfect, but I am saying I am the one who is responsible for laying the proper ground work in my household and if I don’t do it I have no one to blame but myself.

  80. NYSpitter Says:

Ma Nigga Fif Kept It Funny Yo, T.I Could Of Handled It Better I Felt But He Spoke With His Heart…50 Spoke With His Balls lol

    Curtis, June 26th Ma’fuckas

  81. da truth Says:

#67. how did 50 sound like a dumbass? wen he was talkin bout politics, wat dick cheney was doing wit “hoes” ,etc. T.I. spoke from his heart. 50 spoke from his smarts.
