As I was watching this, I couldn’t help but laugh at Cam’ron. Besides that, I thought the report was well put together and Anderson Cooper did a good job at focusing on all angles. I blame people glorifying and making the whole “code” public. Yes, its existed for a while but it was something that you would rarely see anyone talk about, especially in the public eye. The code isn’t secret anymore and urbam music has something to do with it. Its sad in the state of hip-hop when your credibility as an artist is not based on your lyrical and music skills. I don’t know how anyone could live with themselves knowing someone who murders. I know I couldn’t…in a world when life are being cut short everyday, its like we’re content with killing within our communities. Here its 126 murders, its out of control. We as a people need to wake up…

Damn man what is the world coming to. We’re just going to let murders roam our streets? I mean is cool not to say anything if you see someone commit a crime but, what do you do when that same person comes after you? Or that same person commits a crime against you. I agree somewhat with minding your own business but when that shit hits close to home, what do you do? How can you live with the fact you seen someone robbed, raped or murdered and you didnt say anything. Where’s the justice? What about the family that has to deal wiht that lost. Everyday we see too many innocent black people killed and there murders go unsolved. Niggas be sayin we police our own streets but at the end of the day its just brings our community down even more and our murder rates shoot sky high.

1. Police want us in jail or dead. They can care less what happens (ie prison rates and the murders against black men with numerous guns shots)

This is why crime in major urban areas like NY, DC, Baltimore, etc will remain to be high. People are not going to think twice about comitting a crime because they know the neighborhood is not going to snitch on them. Also, by Dipset advertising their “No Snitching Movement,” it only gives others another reason to bring Hip-Hop down. I’m a huge fan of Hip-Hop since I was young, but the direction Hip-Hop is taking is just depressing. Don’t be surprised to hear Hip-Hop being used as a scapegoat for the problems of society again on the news.

Many people really don’t understand until they are in the position themselves. I once caught a colleague of mine downloading really graphic child pornography while at work. I mean videos of toddlers and elementary aged students being raped, screaming for thier mothers. And yea, I snitched, how do you not? He had kids of his own, do I just let it go and hope that he’s not molesting them?
