Tracy Mcgrady May Skip Next Year’s All Star Game If Its Held In New Orleans
Tracy McGrady, even if picked to start, might not play in the 2008 NBA All Star game due to safety concerns dealing with it being held in New Orleans. Mcgrady stated:
“I don’t think it’s the right city to have this type of event right now,” McGrady said before the Rockets played the Raptors last night. “I know the city is in need of trying to get back on their feet, in need of money. Safety comes first.” Source
I agree with McGrady, New Orleans may be too crazy to handle an NBA All Star Game. I keep hearing stories of how bad Las Vegas was, I can only imagine how New Orleans will be, they already have the highest murder rate in the United States.

real talk they robbin the shit outta niggas in new orleans right now. i live in tha d, but them niggas is down there dirty right now. my man was down there when katrina happened, and moved up here. went back down there like 2 weeks ago. came back and said he seen a old man get robbed in the alley for his wallet, then the nigga beat the old man to death. nigga said the next night, some nigga stopped at the red light in a s-class, shot dis nigga thru the window, pushed him in the street and just drove off in his shit. he said dem niggas dont give a fuck about nuthin right now. they dont give a fuck about the cops, they dont give a fuck about livin, and they damn sho dont give a fuck about t-mac. he smart cuz he heard the stories. he know they a rob his ass and it’ll be nuthin to kill his ass
