Red Hot Chilli Peppers Hit The Hood

Red Hot Chilli Peppers – Hump de Bump

Of course there has to be basketball, grills, people getting their hair done, booty shaking and angry black women. I think metal detectors at a block party is a very good idea.

edit: Not saying the video is racist, just has some stereotype in my opinion.

    Yo RealTalkNY,

No offense, I’m a big fan of your site for a while now, but this has to be the 6th post this year claiming something is racist towards blacks.

Not everything that white people do regarding african americans are intended to offend the black community. I’m sure they wanted to pay tribute to the culture, maybe they weren’t completely “politically-correct”. I’m sure if there was bad intentions behind the video, Chris Rock wouldn’t have agreed to do it.

Just my 2c, keep this site going and flame on

I think they are very aware of the clichés they use… The decision to place them in an unexpected context is a creative move.

  7. RealTalkNY Says:

Not saying its racist but it has sterotypes. The doing the hair and grills is what did it for me. Also the angry black women.

I mess wit dem from way back.. as far as stereotypes… “we” put those same images in our own videos.. with every hood stereo type on steroids…who can we blame if thats what society perceives as our “culture”.. our own artists put it out there so much and rarely attempt to expose society to any other side of our very diverse, creative and magnetic culture except the “hood”

“..be not fooled, god is not mocked, you reap what you sow”

  11. L.O.V.E. Says:
