Who Do Critics Of Hip Hop Only Go After The Rappers?
Who Do Critics Of Hip Hop Only Go After The Rappers? Its like law officials going after local drug dealers and ignoring the major distributors. Rappers are going to make what their labels tell them to make. Not to say rappers are innocent, but it seems little focused is placed on the people make the most money off of Hip Hop. All these rappers are going broke because labels give them horrible contracts. But when CNN looks to go on the attack, they go after the rappers instead of the real people in control.

Co-sign! Rappers are mostly the ‘puppets’ in this.

Look at a group like dead prez . Dope group ( IN MY OPINION ) , they talk about real issues in our community . You would think a channel such as bet ( black entertainment television ) would play and support there movement Nope !!! they force feed us this nonsense till you walking down the street one day humming a song you never liked in the first place . Just like they locked up dj drama for selling Mixtapes ??? As big as an asset he is to the record lables they locked him up . These same mixtapes you can go to Large reatil chains Virgin , tower , fye ect and buy . So why dont they go after these stores . I SWEAR TO GOD When that r . kelly thing happen with the sextape they were selling the dvd in virgin mega store on 14th street . So if he’s being charge with having sex with a minor WOULDNT THAT BE KIDDY PORN THERE SELLING ??? Truth is the powers that be allow things like this to happen . All these so called majors are owned by vivendi ( look it up ) this that illuminati shit . they turn us against each other instead of us realizing our real power is together .We have all these record labels , imprints production companies . why there aint any black MAJOR DISTRUBUTION COMPANIES ??? Thats where the powers at !!! we always have to run to the other man to put our product out ……

“They” make us? Man, I hope RealTalkNY doen’t fall into the liberal ‘personal opinon’ media? Rappers choose to talk about what they want! This is a free country and the rappers have the right to record what ever the want. They supply the music to the A&R’s..So,if the A&R’s(who now a days are mostly black)accpects/or rejects it.. it’s all on the artist…Otherwise become Independent…Think about it,,,,Most of the negitivity that’s pumped into the music comes from the Indy Labels? Your Master P’s, Your Dipset’s and so on and so on. As far as the ‘hiphop’ police is concerned…I don’t have an issue with them…Shit, we lost 2pac, Biggie, Big L, Freaky TY and JmJ to that hiphop thug bullshit. If dudes are going to act like monkeys, well, they need to be caged like monkeys. I mean come on ya’ll..Sheist the Bub, Tru Life and Camron are the ones fucking up hiphop…Sending threats to JZ..Fuck yeah you need the law watching rappers..If the rappers wouldnt try to live there lyrics out this shit wouldn’t happen. The bottom line is this, the black community doesnt need to point the finger nor the blame at anyone but themselves for the current state it’s in? We need to stop acting like victims and start behaving like ‘grown-folks’ TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. Last but not least ..CNN? Don’t make me laugh!!! CNN always exploits the faults of the black community like most of the one-sided media..CNN and most of the liberal media do exactly what Benzino did with The Source..try to pump there opinon’s through the power of it’s own publication!

no its not just independent labels, those are small time rappers that CNN was not focused on. Cnn was going at signed artist like Nelly and Ludacris.
You can say you make whatever music you want, but if it don’t sell you are going to go broke. I’m just saying if you are going to go after rappers, go after the labels that have more control over the situation.

I completly agree that is a point of view that is hardly discussed. While people are quick 2 put the blame on all these African American men just tryna make some money no one ever thinks to blame the people distributing the music 40 year old white men…

Nah I def hear your they def are gettin at the rappers which is lame.
1: They mad cuz HIP HOP is takin the world by storm and everyone and their kids is lovin it.
2: They doin irresponsible journalism. They either aren’t doing enough research on hip hop or intentionally being bias in their stories which is mad shady. How come they don’t try gettin on Jay-z or Nas or Common or Mos Def. LOL. Cuz they know they tryna be one sided. This reminds me of dumbasses Camron and Damon Dash going on the Bill Oreilly Factor on FOX NEWS AKA FOX NOISE known for their (FAR RIGHT WING STORY TWISTS) but anyways they got one of the dumbest rappas in the game on these news shows that everyone in this country watches tryna put a further bad image on hip hop .

Valid Point. But you gotta admit, some of these clown ass rappers could care less about their community and it shows by the type of music they put back out there, namely Dip-Shit
And although these rappers are the ones making the music, the lable’s say weather it gets put out or not so the lables should definitly take some responsibility.Matter-of-fact whatever percentage the lable gets off the artist should determine how Much responsibility they take. Court is adjourned. (gavel sound)
