Cosby Speaks Out Against Violence, Goes At Tupac
Typical of Cosby’s style of stinging and controversial commentary, he also faulted the love shown to the late rapper Tupac Shakur. He said it was crazy for Shakur, who was fatally shot in Las Vegas in 1996, and his mother to enjoy the proceeds from Shakur’s drug sales.
“In the book, ‘To Momma With Love,’ or something like that, he is so happy that he’s able to take money from selling cocaine and give the money to his mother,” Cosby said. “How wonderful. Isn’t that wonderful. You’ve got to be kidding. How many lives have you ruined selling packets? How many mothers are not going to go to work because they want to snort? How many dead mothers because of crack, how many babies we got to make turn around because they are crack babies?”
“Hang up the pictures of the people’s lives you ruined,” Cosby declared.

THERE IS NO NEED FOR PAC TO DEFEND HIMSELF. HE SOLD CRACK AND ADMITTED TO IT. DEAD OR ALIVE, IT WAS AND STILL IS A BAD THING TO DO. DISTRUCTION OF YOUR OWN COMMUNITY YET SO MANY PEOPLE PRAISE HIM. 1) The drug game continues to plague our community and destabilize our family structures, yes.
2) The street level dealer is the middle man: the “gub-mint” will deliver drugs by other means if needed.
3) Ive witnessed drugs in my household first hand so I speak from experience.
4) Pac didn’t even stay in the game that long, Cosbo needs to just watch pacs documentary.
5) As long as Cosbo can get it from a doctor, to slip then grope chicks, he’s “aight.”
6) Cosbo is emerging as the hallmark of self hatred, diguised with that “holier than thou” talk.
7) He takes a couple stereotypes, never discusses the real roots of them, and then uses them to degrade
his people, and since we are still in the process of finding and defining ourselves his shit makes enough
sense for us to say “true..true” meanwhile white folks are saying “Kudos” so Cosbo is double dippin at the
cost of his brothers/sisters. Somebody with that much influence must come from a position of unity, and

I really agree with “Undaground” and “mbronzemen” at the same time. It is true that selling drugs is wrong. But one:
1) it isnt explicit wether he sold them to his own people or to white people. Remember he did say cocaine, he didnt say he was cooking crack and selling it to his own people. Either way it is wrong but cosbys comments speak of self destruction of the black people and he may be a little off.
2) I totally agree with underground in the sense that cosby is going about this issue that wrong way and has been. You cant ridicule your own people. Its not effective. We need to uplift. Sure there is alot of things wrong with us but making us feel bad about it isnt the way and thought Cosby may have done many helpfull things (more than oprah, less than tupac, it doesnt really matter) that doesnt give him the right to belittle his people.
3) And lastly, this is coming from someone who isnt a Tupac fan. But i respect the messages he sent out. And noone can say that pac didnt have a positive effect on the community. Sure cosby might have put money towards colleges and ect, but what about those who couldnt make it to college. How many of them heard “Brendas got a baby” or “keep your head up” and felt inspired to do something with their lives. Theres more than one way to help and I dont think the monotary amount, or lack there of is a good measure of how much someone does for the community. I think the effort is.

Overall He’s a little bit right and alot, lot, lot, lot, alot, a whole fuckin lot wrong. We shouldnt be praising pac like some sort of god. He’s not the best rapper that ever lived. He’s not a good leader. He’s not a good role model. He was barely a stable human being emotionally. He was a thespian and entertainer or performing artist way before a street thug. He’s is not the hardest thug ever to touch the mic , matter of fact he got punked off plenty of times in his career. And theres been way harder rougher tougher niggas on the mic . ( you want a name ? If you think so you need to see his documentary and if u still think so , then you shoulda been paying attention when pac was a lil back up dancer for D.U. or when he wasd a teen is performing arts school. It didnt sell well either and that might be indicative(?) of why he deaded that style and never really went back to it much but completely got rid of it when sales became the only worry; cuz big suge knight was bout to rape him in his asshole over the money he owed. Notice pac only started being nothing but thug/gangster 24/7 after suge bailed him out. Yeah he had the thug life tat before but he still showed his other side more often. That’s fowl how Bill dissed Pac like that I guess that he was trying to make a point about drugs in the black community and the first person he thought of was the late great Tupac Shakur. I lossed respect for Bill after reading this I know sellin drugs to ya people is wrong Pac knew it was wrong but sometimes you got to do what you got to do ya feel me and if anybody saw Tupac Resurrection you would know that Pac said he tried to sell drugs for about two weeks but couldn’t do it and he said that the dealers would tell him that don’t get into this drug life go out there and be who he wanted to bw which was a rapper so that’s that I hope someone or some prople respond to my reply.
