IMO I think “hip hop is dead” lp finally broke Nas away from the illmatic album. I think this lp gets 5 mics classic. props to nas for reminding us what hip hop was before soundscans and record sales and record labels were important this should be his next video dead up with all of these fresh emcees in the video like a 15 minute long joint some straight up classic back in the day yo! MTV raps style shit

yo i thought the 80 90 remix were incredible but i can not front and if you are a true hip hop head that west coast remix is fucking out of this world and i am from bk all day ny the west coast rappers still sound like the way most rappers spit today

The 80’s one. Mostly cuz I’m shocked how upon hearin em I thought “geez, they could hold their own NOW the way they’re spittin on this”.
The 90’s one was nice too, but some of em came lazy, an’ I didn’t like the different beat for the west coast one. If they weren’t gonna keep the same beat then they shoulda had some lowrider funked-out g-shit on there.

Man major props to Nas for putting this together. He can say Hip Hop is dead but at least he is doing something to bring back the excitement to the game. I hope he keep them coming, I need to see a South/3rd Coast version. Look at the love Nas gets from everyone. That’s what makes him a legend. He is THAT DUDE right now.
