GirlFriends returns for another season, its the longest running television series, with a majority black cast, since the Cosby show. The show will now be aired on Sundays at 8p.m. on the CW network. One of the four stars, Jill Marie Jones, abruptly decided to depart from the show. This leaves the show’s writer of a difficult task of taking out Jill’s character without having her available to do a farewell appearance. The new season will begin with Joan jogging through a devastated New Orleans.
